2w agoGSC says I've submitted 340 URLs but only 210 are indexed. The audit's crawlability module flagged it. Is a gap like this normal, or is a third of my site invisible for a reason I should hunt down?

2w agoA gap is normal; a third is worth investigating. Some non-indexing is healthy — Google intentionally skips thin, duplicate, or low-value pages, and you often want that.
Go to GSC Pages report and read the 'Not indexed' reasons. The usual suspects:
- Crawled - currently not indexed: Google saw it, judged it not worth indexing. Almost always a quality/thin-content signal. This is the one to care about.
- Discovered - currently not indexed: crawl budget or the page looks low priority.
- Duplicate / alternate with canonical: fine, working as intended.
- Excluded by noindex: intentional, ignore.
Sort your 130 missing URLs into 'should be indexed' versus 'fine to skip'. If lots fall under 'crawled - not indexed', that's a content-quality project, not a technical one. The audit's crawlability module and your sitemap in /full-site-audit will help you separate the two.

2w agoDug into the reasons — most of the gap is old thin tag pages and paginated archives I don't actually care about. Maybe 15 real pages stuck on 'crawled not indexed'. So the scary number is mostly noise. Focusing on those 15.
