Why results say "reconnect Google"
The "Reconnect Google" message appears when SEO Roger's access to your Google data has lapsed. It affects Google Search Console and GA4 reports, and it's usually quick to fix.
What it means
SEO Roger connects to Google using OAuth. Over time, that access can expire or be revoked. When it does, SEO Roger can no longer pull your Search Console or GA4 data and prompts you to reconnect. Your site and your data are fine; only the connection needs refreshing.
How to fix it
- Open Settings > Integrations.
- Find the affected integration (Search Console or GA4).
Once reconnected, your reports will pull fresh data again.
Why access lapses
- Token expiry. OAuth tokens have a limited lifetime and periodically need refreshing.
- Password or security changes. Changing your Google password can invalidate existing tokens.
- Revoked access. If you removed SEO Roger from your Google Account's connected apps, access is cut until you reauthorize.
- Inactivity. Long periods without use can require reauthorization.
Make sure you use the right account
When reconnecting, choose the same Google account that has access to your Search Console property or GA4 property. Connecting the wrong account is a common reason the message persists.
Still seeing the message?
- Disconnect the integration, then Connect again for a clean reauthorization.
- Allow pop-ups so the OAuth window can open, or try a different browser.
- Confirm your account still has access to the property in Google.
Search Console and GA4 are separate
Each integration has its own connection. Reconnecting one does not reconnect the other, so if both show the message, reconnect them individually.
If reconnecting doesn't resolve it, contact support through the help center for help.
