How credits work in SEO Roger
SEO Roger uses credits to meter tools that rely on live data or AI analysis. This article explains how credits work so you can plan your usage.
What credits are
Credits are your usage currency. Each plan includes a monthly allowance, and certain tools spend credits when you run them. Free tools cost 0 credits, so much of the platform is usable without spending anything.
Monthly allowances
Your plan determines how many credits you get each month:
- Free — 50 credits
- Starter ($9) — 150 credits
- Pro ($29) — 600 credits
- Agency ($79) — 2500 credits
Credits renew automatically each month with your billing cycle.
What tools cost
Metered tools show their cost before you run them. Typical costs are:
- 1 credit — Domain Overview, Backlink Analysis, Rank Tracker, Keyword volume, AI Visibility, Local pack, Competitor, AI chat.
- 2 credits — AI content.
- 3 credits — AI Citation Tracker.
Free tools such as Full Site Audit, PageSpeed, Keyword Ideas, Authority, and the generators always cost 0 credits.
Running low
If you use up your monthly credits before they renew, you have two options:
- Buy a top-up pack for immediate credits: 100 for $5, 500 for $20, or 2000 for $70.
- Upgrade your plan for a larger monthly allowance and better value at higher usage.
Tips to manage credits
- Lean on free tools for routine audits and cleanup.
- Reserve credits for high-value metered tools like Domain Overview and AI Citation Tracker.
- Check your credit balance, always visible in the app, before running expensive tools.
- If you consistently run out, upgrading is usually cheaper than repeated top-ups.
Do credits roll over?
Monthly plan credits are designed to refresh each cycle. Top-up credits give you extra headroom when you need a short-term boost. Keep an eye on your balance so you're never caught short mid-project.
