How to use the Thin Content Finder

What it does

The Thin Content Finder scans your site for pages that have little unique or valuable content. Thin pages struggle to rank and can dilute your site's overall quality in the eyes of both search engines and AI answer engines. The tool measures word count and content depth to surface pages that need attention.

How to use it

1. Open Thin Content Finder under Tools.
2. Enter your domain or a specific section URL.
3. Optionally set a minimum word count threshold.
4. Click Find Thin Content.
5. Review the flagged pages sorted by content length.

Reading the results

The report lists pages that fall below your threshold, showing each URL and its word count. Short pages are not automatically bad, so use judgment. A concise contact page is fine, but a product or blog page with only a sentence or two usually needs work. For each thin page, decide whether to expand it with genuinely useful detail, consolidate it into a stronger related page with a redirect, or prune it if it serves no purpose. Re-run the scan after changes to confirm improvements.
