What is Full Site Audit?
A full site audit is a complete crawl of every page on your site, scored against the checks that decide whether search engines and AI answer engines can reach, index and understand you. SEO Roger crawls the way Google does, respecting robots.txt and rate limits, grades 11 modules from crawlability to Core Web Vitals, and returns issues ranked by the traffic each one puts at risk. It is free on every plan, and your first scan needs no account.
How to use Full Site Audit
From signup to shipped fix, this is the whole loop.
- 1Create a free accountSign up in under a minute. No credit card is required, and your first site scan works without an account at all.
- 2Point Full Site Audit at your siteEnter the URL or domain you want to analyze. You can run it on your own site or on a competitor's.
- 3Let it pull the live dataFull Site Audit fetches the current state of the page or domain and runs its checks. Most runs finish in seconds.
- 4Read the ranked findingsResults come back ordered by impact rather than by count, so the issue costing you the most traffic is at the top, not buried under cosmetic warnings.
- 5Ship the fix, then re-runApply the recommended change, or let Roger AI draft it for you, then run the tool again to confirm the issue is resolved and track the improvement.
Why Full Site Audit matters
Most traffic losses are not caused by competitors outranking you. They are caused by your own site quietly breaking: a release adds a noindex tag, a migration leaves redirect chains, a template change strips internal links from a whole section. None of it is visible in a browser. All of it is obvious to a crawler. An audit is how you see your site the way a search engine does, before the drop shows up in analytics.
Search is no longer only Google. ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, Gemini and Claude answer a growing share of queries by reading the same pages crawlers do, then citing a handful of sources. SEO Roger keeps both audiences in view: the classic SERP and the AI answer, from one workspace.
Who it's for
- In-house SEOs who need technical health and crawlability without stitching three tools together
- Agencies and consultants producing client-ready findings, fast
- Founders and marketers who want the fix, not just the metric
Full Site Audit in depth
What a full site audit actually checks
The crawl walks your URLs and grades eleven modules: crawlability and robots rules, indexability and canonical logic, status codes and redirect chains, internal linking and orphan pages, sitemaps and hreflang, title and meta coverage, heading structure, image optimization and alt text, structured data, Core Web Vitals and performance, and security basics such as HTTPS and mixed content. Each finding carries a severity and a plain-language explanation of the consequence, not just a label.
Why issues are ranked by impact, not by count
A crawl of a mid-sized site routinely returns hundreds of findings, and treating them as a flat list is how audits end up ignored. SEO Roger orders them by the traffic sitting behind the affected URLs, so a canonical pointing at the wrong page on a template that covers your top-converting section ranks above two hundred missing alt attributes on an archive nobody visits. The goal is a short list you can ship this week.
How crawl limits work by plan
Crawling is free because it runs on our own infrastructure, but depth is where the cost sits, so it scales with your plan: 50 pages on Free, 500 on Starter, 2,000 on Pro and 10,000 on Agency. A crawl-all run is clamped to your ceiling rather than failing, so you always get a complete result for the pages it did reach.
Turning an audit into work that gets done
Every finding can be handed to Roger AI, which turns the report into a sequenced plan with the change spelled out for each item. WordPress users can apply a large share of fixes directly through the companion plugin. Re-run the audit afterwards and the crawl diff shows exactly what resolved, what regressed and what is new.
Full Site Audit questions, answered
What is a full site audit?
A full site audit crawls every page on a site and scores it against the technical, on-page and content checks that determine search visibility. SEO Roger grades 11 modules and returns a prioritized fix list rather than a raw dump of warnings.
Is the SEO Roger site audit really free?
Yes. Site audits run on our own crawler rather than a paid third-party API, so they never spend credits on any plan, including the free-forever plan. Your very first scan works without even creating an account. What scales with your plan is crawl depth, from 50 pages on Free up to 10,000 on Agency.
How long does a site audit take?
A small site usually completes in a few minutes. Larger crawls take longer because we respect robots.txt and rate limits rather than hammering your server, which is the polite and safe way to crawl a site you care about. Very large or slow-responding sites are the main reason a crawl takes a while.
Will the crawler slow down or damage my site?
No. The crawler obeys robots.txt, honours crawl-delay and rate-limits itself. It reads pages exactly as a search engine would and never submits forms, follows destructive links or changes anything on your site.
How is this different from Google Search Console?
Search Console reports what Google has already found, after the fact, and only for pages it chose to process. An audit crawls your site now, including pages Google has not reached, and tells you why they are not reachable. The two are complementary: SEO Roger cross-references Search Console clicks so you can see which broken pages actually carried traffic.
How often should I run a full site audit?
Run one now for a baseline, then after every release, migration or template change, and on a recurring schedule after that. Weekly suits an actively developed site, monthly is enough for a stable one. Scheduled monitoring can watch for you and email when something changes.
Can I audit a site I do not own?
Yes, for publicly accessible pages. The crawler only reads what any visitor or search engine could read, and it respects the target site's robots.txt. That makes it useful for competitor analysis and for agencies auditing a prospect before an engagement.
Does a site audit help with AI search?
Directly. ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Gemini rely on the same crawlability, structure and schema signals a search crawler uses. A page that is blocked, slow or unparseable cannot be cited by an answer engine either. The audit also flags whether AI crawlers specifically are allowed to reach you.
