How to disconnect or reconnect Google
Your Google Search Console and GA4 connections use OAuth. Occasionally you'll need to disconnect or reconnect them, for example to switch accounts or refresh expired access.
When to reconnect
Reconnect Google when you see messages like "Reconnect Google", "GA4 not connected", or when data stops updating. This usually means your OAuth token expired or was revoked, not that anything is broken on your site.
How to reconnect
- Open Settings > Integrations.
- Find Google Search Console or Google Analytics 4.
Reconnecting simply refreshes SEO Roger's access. Your historical data and settings remain intact.
How to disconnect
- Open Settings > Integrations.
- Find the Google integration you want to remove.
- Click Disconnect.
- Confirm when prompted.
Disconnecting revokes SEO Roger's access to that data source. You can reconnect any time.
Switching to a different Google account
- Disconnect the current integration.
- Click Connect again.
- On Google's screen, choose the different account you want to use.
- Select the correct property if prompted.
Why tokens expire
OAuth tokens can expire or be invalidated when you change your Google password, revoke app access in your Google security settings, or after a period of inactivity. Reconnecting resolves all of these.
Troubleshooting
- Still seeing "Reconnect Google" after reconnecting? Make sure you completed the full Google consent flow and returned to SEO Roger.
- Wrong property showing? Reselect the property, or disconnect and reconnect with the right account.
- Access revoked externally? If you removed SEO Roger in your Google Account's connected-apps settings, reconnect from Integrations to restore it.
